Leana Coopoosamy

Inclusion, Diversity & Wellbeing Specialist for the UK region, Clifford Chance

Leana is involved in supporting the UK firm with the implementation of their global inclusion strategy, ownership of their UK reverse mentoring programme across diversity strands and supporting on wellbeing initiatives.

Leana has gained experience of workforce planning at PwC and has an extensive background in recruitment after graduating from Loughborough University with a degree in International Relations. Prior to Clifford Chance, Leana supported a number of FTSE 100 organisations to drive inclusion in the workplace, leading on ethnic minority inclusion with a particular focus on increasing the profile of the ethnicity pay gap.

In her spare time, Leana sits on the board of Show Racism the Red Card, an anti-racism educational charity and runs a small business, Nigella boutique which provides Mama to be hampers focusing on supporting Black and ethnically diverse businesses.


Victoria Widdows

Director of International Legal Recruiting & Development, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld

Victoria oversees the full spectrum of legal talent management for the international offices of Akin Gump, from graduate recruitment through to senior lateral lawyer hiring. She steers the strategies for recruiting, on-boarding, learning & development frameworks and career progression, working alongside the hiring and managing partners. She is a founding member of the DE&I Council for the London office, working with its chairperson and wide-ranging diverse resource groups (FRGs), as a champion and ally to ensure that all legal talent processes are inclusively aligned.

Victoria is strongly committed to the legal sector being representative of today’s society by focusing on eliminating bias, increasing social mobility representation and building out mental health well-being. She has worked in people management roles at 3 leading US law firms for over 25 years and is a Chartered Member of the CIPD, a member of the Law Society Law Management Section and a certified mental health first-aider.

Laura Yeates

Head of Graduate Talent, Clifford Chance

Laura is Head of Graduate Talent at the global law firm, Clifford Chance. In her most recent role she oversees the graduate recruitment and development teams, both of which have won awards for ground-breaking initiatives focused on improving access to the legal profession, innovation in the sector, tackling the stigma of mental health and sexual harassment in the workplace. She is also Co-Chair of the London Inclusion Committee.

She joined Clifford Chance in 2006, having previously worked at J.P. Morgan in both the graduate recruitment team and also in a generalist HR role.

With over fifteen years' graduate recruitment experience and five years' HR experience, she is a Fellow of the CIPD, a Trustee of the Bridge Group, an Opinion Leader for People in Law and a member of the National Student Pride Steering Committee. In 2020 she founded the Sustainable Recruitment Alliance and is currently Chair of the Alliance steering group. She is also a former Board Director of the Institute of Student Employers and member of the Advisory Board of The Apples & Pears Foundation, a London based charity enabling inner city families to take weekend school trips with their children and volunteers.
