Across UK law firms, women now make up a majority of solicitors, yet remain significantly under represented in senior leadership and partnership roles – with only around 32-34% of partners being female, despite women constituting over 50% of practising solicitors.
In this webinar, Eileen Burbidge MBE, Executive Director of Fertifa, and Gidon Lieberman, Medical Director of Fertifa, will discuss how key stages of the partnership pipeline, from return to work after parental leave through to progression towards equity partner, present unique challenges that can disproportionately impact parents.
Key discussion points will include:
- Retaining female talent: Exploring why female lawyers are more likely to consider leaving their firms, with studies showing 36% are at risk of leaving over the next two years – and how early attrition impacts the talent pipeline into senior roles.
- Best-practice approaches for inclusive culture and flexible working: What effective policies look like in practice, and how targeted support for returning parents can enhance engagement, wellbeing and long-term retention – especially at the associate to partner transition.
Eileen and Gidon will cover practical strategies to strengthen retention, support career continuity, and ensure your partnership pipeline is resilient, equitable and future-proof.
This webinar is hosted by Fertifa. Fertifa works with leading law firms such as Weil, Fried Frank, MoFo, Hill Dickinson, Osborne Clarke and Crowell & Moring, to provide their employees with comprehensive support from pregnancy to postpartum, from newborn to infant care.
