While AI offers significant benefits in the workplace, and is widely used by employers to help with the recruitment and management of employees, it brings with it risks that need careful management.
It is important that firms understand that AI tools can expose them to risks, for example making discriminatory or biased decisions and data privacy and security risks. This means that firms using AI need to take steps to carefully manage and mitigate the risks. In addition, will the advent of the usage of AI lead to a reduced requirement for actual lawyers – and how would that be handled?
This session will focus on AI issues, and there will also be a discussion of some of the findings from the recent surveys on DEI and family friendly policies.
This session will be led by Chris Holme and Shadia El Dardiry of Clyde & Co who will cover:
1. AI in the workplace
i. Risks in relation to discrimination and data protection
ii. Recent cases
iii. The changing regulatory landscape
iv. How firms can manage the risks
v. How will it impact on actual lawyers
2. A discussion of some findings from the DEI and family leave policies surveys
