Sheldon will be providing an overview of the current landscape in the legal sector’s race for talent in the South West. He will explore the impact the current market conditions are having on salaries and candidate supply, as well as candidate drivers and motivations. Nicky will be sharing thoughts on how law firms need to be shaping their brands and EVP in the current climate in order to stand out as a legal employer of choice.
About the speakers
Sheldon Carlisle
Sheldon is a Director at Hays and specialises in recruiting legal professionals across the Southwest and South Wales, working with NQ’s through to Partners and teams. He previously practiced as a Commercial Property lawyer with Osborne Clarke and Bevan Brittan and has built up 20 years’ experience in the legal market. Having previously led the Southwest Legal team at Hays, he now focuses on managing client relationships and recruiting lawyers in Private Practice.
Sheldon is a regular speaker and hosts round table events for lawyers, law firm recruitment teams and partners in Bristol for Bristol Law Society and the Bristol Junior Lawyers Division and is part of the team that delivers the Hays Annual Salary Survey Launch event for business leaders across the Bristol market.
Nicky Gaddu
Nicky started her career in Media Independents such as Cogent Elliot, McCann Erickson, London Media Company & Spotlight Advertising giving her a deeply embedded understanding of marketing, advertising, creative and media. She moved into recruitment by accident and brings her passion for all things recruitment in particular, ‘experiential marketing’ from a candidate and organisational perspective.
She has worked with a diverse portfolio of clients such as Honeywell, Mitie, PwC, HS2, Birmingham City Council, Alexa Retail, Mensa, The Autistic Society, Anchor Trust and quangos, professional services, FE & HE sectors through leading RPO providers and consultancy. Nicky has curated, embedded, developed and created Brand and EVP through the employer, employee and candidate lifecycle and her experience as an Account Director in different sectors gives her the advantage of seeing recruitment through a wider lens enabling holistic strategic solutions. She has worked on organisational model changes – TOM’s – and introduced manageable step change in recruitment processes.
Nicky now heads up our Brand and EVP Solutions at Hays working with a range of clients where her creativity, solutions focussed and future proofing outlook are helping clients put Brand and EVP theory into practice, enabling longer term cost savings and positioning as an Employer of Choice.
