Dealing with partner complaints and grievances: What rights do partners have?
There is no doubt that complaints and concerns being raised in relation to partners are continuing to increase. Both raised by employees, and by other partners.
There are practical issues that need to be borne in mind in relation to handling concerns regarding partners, over and above those which need to be considered regarding employees. But there is an ongoing assumption that partners don’t have rights in the same way as employees, and in particular that they don’t have as many rights (and in some cases an assumption that they don’t have any rights at all!).
This session will ask whether that is true, and will also go through the various considerations which HR and General Counsel Officers (GCOs) need to have in mind when dealing with complaints against partners, from the perspectives of the rights that a partner has.
Chris Holme and Shadia El Dardiry of Clyde & Co will lead this session, and will cover the following:
- What rights do partners have?
- How does this impact the handling of complaints or concerns arising in relation to partners?
- What particular issues do HR and GCOs have to have in mind?
