Please join us for our September Employment Law Update hosted by our friends at Clyde & Co, followed by drinks and canapés and a spot of networking.
A number of developments have taken place over the summer months, the most notable one being the recent announcement of a number of employment law reforms envisaged by the new Labour government. The first part of this session will serve as a refresher for HR on key changes and developments, and address what law firms need to do to ensure they are well placed to deal with these changes.
The second part of the session will look more closely at neurodiversity in law firms. A ‘hot topic’ for a number of years now, with about 15% of the UK workforce estimated to be neurodivergent, a number of employers – including law firms – have made significant strides in creating more inclusive workplaces to accommodate individuals with neurodiversity. However, there has also been an increase in employment tribunal cases relating to neurodiversity in recent years, with employers finding it particularly difficult to grapple with neurodiversity in disciplinary and capability contexts.
What issues may arise in a disciplinary or capability context? What should HR be aware of and what steps do they need to take within their firms? This session will focus on these questions and what practical steps firms can take to reduce the risk of unlawful discrimination in a work environment that is known to be demanding, pressurised and fast-paced.
Chris Holme (Partner) and Shadia El Dardiry (Senior Associate) of Clyde & Co will lead this session, and will cover the following:
