Richard Foley is Senior Partner at Pinsent Masons, and recently won People in Law’s coveted ‘Senior HR Ally’ award for his contribution to diversity and inclusion at the firm.
He has been involved in a broad range of initiatives at Pinsent Masons, including its SKY gender equality programme, the launch of the Mindful Business Charter (alongside major banks and other law firms), and the launch of a ‘Spark’ board of junior employees that runs in parallel with the main board.
Foley was also instrumental in helping Pinsent Masons reach the number one spot in the Stonewall Equality Index in 2019, and speaks regularly at LGBT+ events as a straight ally. He has supported the company to build a more agile culture and to roll out more flexible working across the business, and led much of the work to create Pinsent Masons’ values and its journey to become a more purpose-led business.
People in Law caught up with Richard to discuss the importance of pushing ahead with diversity and inclusion efforts in the legal sector.
